GSMA Introduces Additional Programmes for Mobile World Congress Shanghai

The GSMA today announced the details of new programmes and exhibition features at Mobile World Congress Shanghai, which will be held 15-17 July at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The GSMA also announced further exhibitors, sponsors and partners for the Shanghai event.

“With just two weeks until Mobile World Congress Shanghai, we’re gearing up for our largest and most ambitious Asia event ever,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “This year’s Congress comprises an even broader range of programmes and events, showcasing the very latest innovations in mobile, and we’re excited to welcome the mobile world to Shanghai in July.”

The GSMA confirmed the addition of several new partner programmes taking place at Mobile World Congress Shanghai. On Wednesday, 15 July, Visa Worldwide is holding its “Visa Ready HCE Summit”, which will bring together leaders in mobile payments to share their knowledge and experience in implementing cloud-based payment solutions. King & Wood Mallesons is also hosting the symposium “Innovate or Perish: Responding to Change in the New Age of Digital Convergence” on Wednesday.

The GSMA also announced new partners participating in several events. The GTI Asia Conference, which is hosted by the Global TD-LTE Initiative and China Mobile and supported by the GSMA and the ITU, is focused on accelerating TD-LTE deployment and promoting the convergence of LTE TDD and FDD. Huawei joins the GSMA in presenting the “Entertainment Unlimited Summit”, delving into the confluence of entertainment, the internet and the mobile industry.

Additionally, the Smart City Expo World Congress and 2nd Smart Cities India 2016 Expo are the supporting partners for the Smart Cities Summit, which will address the long- and short-term challenges facing governments and municipalities in evolving to a smart city model, as well as the success stories to date.
