Jump into the 2016 Election? Morris Chang: Ridiculous

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Morris Chang, Chairperson of TSMC attended the 42nd anniversary of Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan on July 3, when asked about whether he would jump into the crucial 2016 presidential race, he turned down by saying ridiculous, twice.

“Though there have been many natural and man-made disasters happened in Taiwan, I still see bright prospects in Taiwan.” said Morris Chang, he also would like to offer condolences to the family of the late Chang Ching-chu, a former Chairperson of Vanguard International Semiconductor Co.

Meanwhile, Taiwan could face a tight power supply and even power rationing due to temperature soars. Morris Chang pointed that power rationing will cause negative impact on technology industry, “I hope it wouldn’t happen this year.”

Furthermore, in response to Greece debt crisis, Morris Chang considered it has limited influence on Taiwan. However, when asked about whether he would jump into the crucial 2016 presidential race, he turned down by saying ridiculous, twice.
