“The demand of 16-nanometer process from customers is strong, there’s no inventory control problem.” said Morris Chang.

Morris forecast that its 16-nanometer process production will surpass 20-nanometer in terms of sales revenue in 2016.

Meanwhile, Morris Chang said that to add up 20-nanometer and 16-nanometer processes’ sales revenue, the total will higher than 28-nanometer. On the other hand, Morris Chang pointed out that 10-nanometer and 7-nanometer processes’ production capacity is smaller than that of 20-nanometer and 16-nanometer.

However, Morris Chang stated that 10-nanometer and 7-nanometer processes’ sales revenue is bigger than 20-nanometer and 16-nanometer processes.

Apart from that, the company’s year-over-year, second quarter revenue increased 12.2 percent while net income and diluted EPS both increased 33.0 percent. Compared to first quarter 2015, second quarter results represent a 7.5 percent decrease in revenue, and a 0.5 percent increase in net income. Gross margin for the quarter was 48.5 percent, operating margin was 37.5 percent, and net profit margin was 38.7 percent.

Shipments of 20-nanometer process technology accounted for 20 percent of total wafer revenues. 28-nanometer accounted for 27 percent of total wafer revenues. Advanced technologies, defined as 28-nanometer and 20-nanometer technologies, accounted for 47 percent of total wafer revenues.
