Taiwanese Firms Hard to Earn Profit by Manufacturing iPhone 6S

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Manufacturing cost of per iPhone 6S is NT$150, Taiwanese firms hard to earn profit. According to a research firm, the manufacturing cost of a iPhone 6S cost Apple NT$148.5, the cost of the new feature 3D Touch is merely NT$330, which occupied 1.9 percent and 4.2 percent of the total cost of the 16GB iPhone 6S. Furthermore, the cost of the handset only occupied 31.5 percent of the price.

In other words, this means that Apple earn a lot of profit from the handset, the major assemblers Hon Hai and Pegatron hard to earn profit out of it. Moreover, the new feature 3D Touch is also low-cost, TPK Holding Co. and F-GIS also difficult to earn a lot from manufacturing it.

Nevertheless, based on the price of the 16GB iPhone 6S, each sold handset can contribute NT$16,929 to Apple. That is, the cost only occupied 30 percent of the price.

With the reason that Apple enjoy tht high profit, resulted in partners of Apple hard to earn profit out of it. However, penetrated into the supply chain of Apple means high quality in products. Sometimes, even if it’s losing money, partners of Apple would still do it.

Another report shows that Apple ranks No.1 in the high-end handset market. On the contrary, for those non-Apple brands like HTC, LG, Lenovo and SONY, etc. only Samsung can earn profit out of it.
