Force Touch Will Not Be Popular Next Year

TPK CEO Michael Chung said that each new technology takes about one year to form its eco-system, then enter high growth stage. Therefore, there will be no large number of applications to use force touch technology in 2016. TPK estimates, it needs at least three years to reach large-scale growth.
In recent years, touch technology suppliers face serious challenges. They are not only challenged by new comers but also display panel makers who provide a large number of touch integrated products, results independent touch technology suppliers difficult to make a profit. Even TPK is a key touch supplier of Apple, is still struggle in profiting.
TPK held its investor conference yesterday and announced its financial result of the third quarter which was the highest-ever loss in the company’s history. TPK also announced that the company will continue to develop the advanced touch technology, and will be more focus on value-added technology.
To seek higher profit margin, TPK said that the company will choice important customers and in close cooperation with them, to spend three to five years to do product development with these customers. Including Fold OLED touch technology will be put in list, but it will not have immediately upshot in the next year, it takes at least three to five years to have the financial results.
