Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) is the first mover in Taiwan to serve mobilephone rental service. Maxwell Cheng, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of Consumer Sales & Marketing Division at FET, said that FET is Taiwan's first company entering rental mobile phone service market, aiming at consumers aged 20~35, to make them easy to enjoy the latest high-end flagship mobile phone with less than NT$10 per day.

Cheng estimates that the new service will bring user growth rate to 10%~20%, enabling the increase of the user's average phone bill. The market share of charter business will likely reach 10%.

The high-end mobilephone market share reaches 40% at present and the hire service will increase the capability of purchasing high-end mobile phone to lift sales further, said Cheng.
