Acer Forms an Cross-Industry Strategic Alliance to Assist the Island’s Agriculture Industry

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Acer Founder and former Chairperson Stan Shih on Thursday initiated a cross-industry strategic alliance to assist the nation’s agriculture industry to utilize Internet of Things applications. Shih stated that the company’s Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC) cloud-computing platform could also enable farmers to store and analyze data.

Shih is expected the cross-industry strategic alliance will cover food, clothing, living, transportation, entertainment and medical care. “To cover every industry that invovled with human beings in the hope of integrating technologies.”
