According to the report, the new company would be wholly owned by Wang and HTC.
On the other hand, the possible move also shows the determination of HTC to overcome all the obstacles to succeed in the VR market.
It is widely circulated that HTC had started discussing spinning off its VR operations before its former CEO Peter Chou stepped down in March last year.
Meanwhile, Cher Wang stated that Asus and HP will release VR ready PCs or notebooks in the near future. Furthermore, the price tag of the HTC Vive will probably be higher than that of Oculus Rift because of its high-end features and specs.
As pre-order sales open in this month, Facebook finally reveals the price for the Oculus Rift: $599.
HTC unveiled its first VR headset, the HTC Vive at the Mobile World Congress show in March last year. The pre-order sales for the device would begin on Feb. 29, with the device scheduled to hit the market in April.
HTC officials withheld comment on it.
