TAITRA predicts that COMPUTEX 2016 will reach an overall size of 5,000 booths, and it will include the following three new exhibition areas: “SmarTEX” IoT technological applications, the “InnoVEX” arena for innovative ventures, and the “iStyle,” which will primarily consist of Apple Mac and iSeries products.

In 2016, the Internet of Things (IoT) is an annual keyword for the ICT industry. IoT related equipment, technological applications, and integrated solutions have become the primary goals for many international buyers who will attend COMPUTEX. 2016 COMPUTEX will set up a “SmarTEX” exhibition area in Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1 with the following six IoT application domains: security applications, smart homes and entertainment, smart wearable devices, automobile electronics, 3D business applications, and smart technological solutions.

On the other hand, the “small amount and high diversity” IoT applications model will be used to usher in a new and unprecedented wave of innovation in the ICT industry. InnoVEX will be based in Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 3 and feature a lively exhibition area with open-style booths and a discussion area. It will combine activities such as venture forums, demos, media collections, and exchanges and enable innovative exhibitions, technological exchanges, and financial media to converge in one place.

The COMPUTEX d&i awards will be presented for two categories of participants: Smart Home + Security and Wearable Technology and Smart Applications/Products. At the same time, the “Special Award for Innovative Ventures” will also be established in order to encourage new enterprises or groups to invest in innovative research and development.
