Jonny Shih yesterday and today attended the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan’s Fifth Annual Academic Certification Ceremony and in a media interview afterwards commented that the VR trend has gradually taken shape and that Asus will not be found lacking in any mega trend regardless of whether it is VR, AR, or MR.

He also pointed out that in the gaming domain Asus is extremely competitive. Gaming is a definite focus of development which will first make use of VR integration. As for AR and MR, there is a lot of room to integrate them with robots, and in the future there will be significant integration with the study of motion tracking and spacial learning.

Asus CEO Jerry Shen previously disclosed that in the first half of next year, Asus will introduce PC VR and possibly unofficially unveil it as soon as next year’s CES. In addition, Asus is also entering Microsoft’s MR platform, Hololens.
