Zeitfracht Acquires Sauter Feinmechanik

Published: Jun 09,2021

Zeitfracht Group acquires the system supplier of machine tools SAUTER Feinmechanik. Being a family-owned company from Metzingen, Germany, SAUTER is the world market leader for tool turret technology.

With its motor spindles, tooling, automation solutions and rotary tables, SAUTER is also one of the leading companies in the areas of tool and workpiece carrier systems. The machine manufacturer currently employs around 240 people. In addition to its operational focus in Europe, SAUTER also has subsidiaries in the United States, Hungary and Taiwan.

Dominik Wiehage, spokesman for the management of Zeitfracht Group: "Zeitfracht Group has grown very fast in recent months. We want to use the current upheaval in parts of the economy for further sensible growth and investments in fine companies with excellent reputations. Sauter Feinmechanik GmbH is such a company and, with its products and services, is one of the world's leading suppliers in this segment. Zeitfracht is also a family business, so we are convinced that the family business Sauter Feinmechanik is a good fit for us and a wise addition to our portfolio."

Zeitfracht Group will support the Metzingen-based company with its expertise and know-how, especially in digitalisation, for example through Zeitfracht's own digital agency coconad. Conversely, previous Zeitfracht companies such as the space logistics company PTS will also benefit from the expertise of the mechanical engineering component manufacturer - for example, with the design and manufacture of parts for PTS's innovative logistics tracking system.

According to Felix Schöller, Managing Director of SAUTER Feinmechanik, the takeover sets the course for a successful future: "Digitalisation is one of the challenges crucial to the success of both SAUTER Feinmechanik and the entire mechanical engineering sector that we will have to overcome in the coming years. Zeitfracht, with its many years of expertise in this area, will take us a big step forward. The acquisition will enable us to design our systems for machining production in an even more forward-looking way."
