Taiwan’s ARRC Accomplishes Its First Rocket Launch in Pingtung County

PINGTUNG, Taiwan - The Pingtung County’s scientific research rocket launch site in Peony Township hold its first launch which was executed by Advanced Rocket Research Center (ARRC) of National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University. The launch was initiated on May third of this year but cancled afterward. On July 10th, the ARRC proceed with another challenge and launched successfully.

This launch project is ARRC's first flight test of the second section of the HTTP-3A rocket for the implementation of the Ministry of Science and Technology's plan. The flight time is about 2 minutes and the flight altitude is about 3 kilometers.
The test focuses on controllable hybrid rocket propulsion technology, rocket flight navigation control technology, rocket launch ground support system, and rocket parachute recovery system. This launch preparation and all the data during the flight will be used as a reference for the next stage of flight testing.
