TSMC hold supplier conference and technology forum every year, the conference held yesterday was presided over by Mark Liu, a new Co-CEO at TSMC, Applied Materials, ASML, and other semiconductor Equipment manufacturers were participating.
Mark Liu said that revenue of 28nm production services this year will reach USD$ 5.4 billion , accounting for 17-18% of total annual revenue growth ; the new 20 nm production will be as planned , expected to maintain double digit growth next year.
About the outlook for next year , Liu said that the global GDP growth rate around 2.5 % this year ,will up 2.8% next year; global semiconductor industry output growth rate of 4% this year , expected to grow to 5% next year; foundry output growth of 11% this year , the growth rate of next year will be 9%.
While has resigned from CEO duty, TSMC chairman Morris Chang still lead the advanced process research and development team, responsible for more than 3,000 R & D personnel in 16 nm / 10 nm, extreme ultraviolet (EUV), and advanced design services platform business.
