The CEO of TSMC Morris Chang shows his concerns after lecturing at the one-day forum held by Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA), part of celebrations for TSIA's 18th founding anniversary. “I'm very worried about the current situation,” said the 83 years old CEO Morris Chang, “the government and the students should be compromised as soon as possible for the sake of peace and rationalness.”
In response of when asked about whether Taiwan would be fallen behind of South Korea if failed to pass the Cross-Strait Agreement on Trade in Services, Morris Chang indicates “there are a lot more to do than signing FTA if we want to compete with South Korea or any other competitors.”
However, there are a lot of business leaders who declare their positions toward Cross-Strait Agreement on Trade in Services, Morris Chang refused to declare his position, saying that it won't affect TSMC whether the FTA is passed or not.
