Although TSMC is one of important supply chain of Apple, the declined revenue in August implies that the Apple’s new products are unable to compensate the droped orders of other non-Apple’s.
Tawan’s investment trust pointed out that TSMC has begun the return on 16 nm manufacturing processed products but face the irresistible droped orders of 28/20 and 8-inch. Thus, revenue of 67.038 billion for August 2015 is the third-lowest revenue this year and a decrease of 3.2 % y-o-y. In reality, the situation could be severer than if the exchange rate effect is ignored.
According to TSMC estimate, the third-quarter revenue will be about 207 billion to 210 billion, an increase of 0.7% to 2.2% QoQ. On a consolidated revenue basis, revenue for July and August 2015 totaled 147.991 billion. The September revenue will reduce( about 59 billion to 62billion).
