Acer Tops the Monitor Market in Western Europe, Asus Participates in Fun Guandu

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Taiwanese PC maker Acer Inc. increased its monitor market share in Western Europe to reach the No. 1 position with 17.5 percent market share for retail sell-out last quarter, the firm said on October 26, citing sales tracking agency Context SalesWatch Distribution. Meanwhile, Asus is going to participate in the event “Fun Guandu” on October 31 in an attempt to promote the environmental protection.

According to Context SalesWatch Distribution, within the monitor market, Acer’s gaming monitor segment had over 38 percent market share in the first nine months of this year, with leading shares ranging from 28 percent to 60 percent in key markets, such as Germany, France and the UK.

Acer has led the way with several industry firsts in monitor technology, demonstrating its rapid time-to-market capability. These include the Acer XB270HU that launched as the world’s first NVIDIA G-SYNC enabled gaming monitor with an IPS display in January; and the Predator X34 as the world’s first curved monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC for immersive gaming experience with minimal stutters and screen tears in April.

Besides, Asus will participate in the “Fun Guandu” on October 31 in an attempt to promote the environmental protection. The team of the company is going to hit the road with PCB and recycled PC components as their decorations.

The “Fun Guandu” parade will start at 1:45 PM at Tapas House in Guandu.
