GVIDO represents the first product application using E Ink’s Carta e-paper technology in a dual 13.3” E Ink Mobius display. Its low-power consumption, high-readability from all angles and durability makes it the ideal display technology to bring digital music scores to life.

“It can be challenging to delicately balance disruption with the preservation of legacy and tradition when introducing digital technology,” said Mr. Fujio Noguchi, CEO of Terrada Music Score Co., Ltd. “I cannot think of a better example of this than music. But, thanks to E Ink’s electronic paper display technology, we have been able to develop a music score device that maintains the look and feel of traditional paper while easing the way musicians access, store, transport and utilize music scores.”

Not only does GVIDO display downloadable music scores in PDF, it also enables musicians to easily mark up their scores directly on the screen. Backed by GVIDO cloud service and a built-in memory and Micro SD Card, musicians can access and bookmark a large variety of music scores, while simultaneously saving edited sheets with notes for future reference.

“This is yet another example of how E Ink’s electronic ink technology continues to revolutionize the way we create, consume and share information,” said Johnson Lee, President at E Ink. “We’re proud of our relationship with Terrada and will continue to support their efforts to redefine the music industry and improve the user experience for all musicians around the globe.”

GVIDO is scheduled for release in North America, Europe and Japan later in 2017.
