Asus Revises Down Its NB Shipments Forecast

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Asus announced yesterday the downturn of its annual notebook(NB) growth rate, with revising its NB shipments forecast down to 20 million units, to be the first NB manufacture to adjust its shipments target this year.

Asus revised down the expectation of NB shipments from 22.8 million units to 20 million units yesterday. And the company stressed that the target shipments of its mobile phone production will remain unchanged, from 17 million units to 25 million units.
Both Intel and AMD, the world’s top two CPUs manufacturers, earlier announced that the their business forecast was not as well as expect, AMD even revised down its financial report forecast of Q2. Therefore Asus’s reduction of its NB shipments forecast has acknowledged that the global PC market is under severe condition.
Asus also reported its consolidated revenues for June totaled NT$4168 billion, monthly revenue growth of 23.8% and annual growth of 22.9%, recorded the second highest this year.
